«Essentially, these smart powders simply contain additional enzyme proteins that remove various types of dirt. In order for the enzymes to be used in laundry detergents, they had to be adapted to high temperatures. So, these first enzymes, which were they started to add to laundry detergents, were created using the approach proposed by Francis Arnold. And this is what is the so-called directed evolution,» said the expert.
