The helmet is of the Corinthian type, the Hermione group, and it dates back to the first quarter of the Vth century BC. The only other such helmet in the territory of the former Russian Empire was found in the middle of the XIXth century in the Kiev province in the mound near the village of Romekovka. No similar helmets have been found in the Greek cities in the North of the Black Sea region", Roman Mimohoda, the head of the expedition, is quoted as saying in the press-release.
