Quantum computers based on superconductor processors are going to be created by scientists in Russia

The scientists at Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT) together with colleagues from other institutions have started to develop processors for quantum computers based on superconducting materials, informed Oleg Astafyev, the head of the Artificial Quantum Systems Lab of MIPT and a professor at the University of London.

«We have made progress improving the quality of superconducting qubits since 2015. And now we are starting to integrate qubits and assemble simplest quantum processors, the heart of future quantum computer, based on such qubits. In our opinion, which coincides with the opinion widely held in the world, superconducting quantum systems are more promising than any other systems,» professor Astafyev explained during the First International Conference on Superconducting Quantum Technologies in Moscow.
