Scientists created new supercomputer in Dubna named after academician Govorun
«As soon as the new machine will be loaded with tasks, we expect that it will enter the top rankings of Russian supercomputers of such class,» - Trubnikov said.
The machine has got its name after the academician Nikolay Govorun, the mathematician and former chief editor of the Soviet journal «Programming.»
The researchers expect that the new supercomputer will boost involved theoretical and experimental studies in the fields of nuclear physics and physics of condensed matter.
The computational facilities of «Govorun» will be applied for the whole range of investigations of Joint Institute for Nuclear Research, for example, in the course of megaproject NICA, and to solve the tasks which are carried out in cooperation with other world scientific centers: CERN, FAIR, and BNL.
