«Obviously, we need to exclude internal competition and work together. There is a Joint Institute for Nuclear Research in Dubna with its radiation equipment and advanced radiation medicine, the Russian Scientific Centre for Radiology named after Academician A.M. Granov outside of St. Petersburg, the centre in Obninsk, and several other institutes. I believe that we can achieve an exceptional synergistic effect, not opposing, but combining the strengths of the scientific organisations, «Kovalchuk said.

About two dozen scientific organisations can take part in the research programme, according to the president of the Kurchatov Institute, that the institute plans to develop together with the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Federal Agency of Scientific Organizations (FASO), the scientific institutes of the Ministry of Health and Rosatom.
