«Our scientists suggested analysing the state of myelin, the main substance of the nerve fibre membranes, on which the correct signalling between neurons depends. The new approach will provide a complete picture of changes in the affected area and will improve the accuracy of the prognosis of patients' rehabilitation,» the source said.

In order to «look» into the damaged brain, explained the source, neuroscientists of TSU used a unique method of non-invasive evaluation of the myelin state using MRI.
