Krasnoyarsk schoolboy invented an interactive textbook on physics

The textbook by the Krasnoyarsk schoolboy, which makes use of the technology of augmented reality, is planned to be introduced it into the school curriculum in physics starting September 2018, Nadezhda Kvitkovskaya, said the press-secretary of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Education Ministry.

«The Ministry of Education supported the invention and provided 50 thousand rubles for its development and the textbook will be available for mass downloading starting September this year. It is supposed to be used mainly for school pupils of 10th grade,» Kvitkovskaya said.

The creator of the textbook — Dmitry Egorov, the pupil of 11th grade at the Krasnoyarsk gymnasium № 13 «Akadem» - explained to the TASS that it is an application for mobile phones and there are 8 laboratory works each containing specially developed three-dimensional model, reference data, and a table form of the report on work. The schoolboy is now working on the improvement of animation of the three-dimensional objects, as well as on the development of the textbook interface.
