Russia and Japan intend to develop cooperation in biotechnologies and the treatment of cancer

Japanese scientists and physicians are interested in developing cooperation with Russian colleagues and intend to learn Russian practices in the treatment of haematological and oncological diseases, and infertility. Sergei Rumyantsev head of the Department of Oncology, Haematology and Radiation Therapy and the vice-principal responsible for strategic development at Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University (RNRMU) announced this at the forum «Culture of Living. Active Longevity».

The event is held as a part of within the framework of the Russia-Japan cross-year, which 2018−2019 is announced to be.

«The Japanese are interested in our treatment programmes for haematology, use of Russian protocols for treating acute leukaemia and solid tumours in children,» Rumyantsev said. The Russian scientists and physicians are interested in adopting the Japan’s experience in the field of screening for oncological diseases and setting up a system for their diagnosis.
