Rosatom will supply an experimental batch of superconductors for the Future Circular Collider

Rosatom will produce and supply superconductors for the unique research facility — the Future Circular Collider (FCC), which is planned to be built in Switzerland in the 2030s, the press service of the TVEL Fuel Company (a part of Rosatom) informs.

The message says that the TVEL and the European Organisation for Nuclear Research (CERN) have agreed to conduct research and development (R&D) works at Chepetskiy Mechanical Plant to develop a batch of superconductors. Experts from Rosatom will manufacture there superconducting niobium-tin wires based on several different designs, which will subsequently be delivered to CERN for qualification tests.
