Russian scientists confirmed the effectiveness of the replacement for the Mantoux test

Experts at the Moscow City Research and Practical Centre for Tuberculosis Control (MCRPCTC) of the Moscow City Healthcare Department compared two methods of diagnosing tuberculosis — the Mantoux test and 'Diaskintest'. The comparison showed that for children and adolescents who had not been vaccinated with anti-TB BCG vaccine, both methods detect the disease with the same frequency and accuracy. But in case of people who have ever been vaccinated, 'Diaskintest' gives a false positive less often. The preprint of the scientific article is published on the site biorXiv.
