According to the astronomers from LIP, the ejection happened on Tuesday is quite weak but nevertheless will influence the Earth because of its direction almost parallel to the line connecting the Sun and the Earth. The flying matter will reach the magnetic field of our planet around 8:00 (UTC+3) on February 15. «At the moment of an impact with the magnetic field of the Earth, we forecast relatively pronounced perturbations of the magnetic field which will last about 8−10 hours,» - researchers noticed. They also added that the probability of inducing a magnetic storm of the first level is about 35%, while the second level storm might appear only with 10% probability.
