Russian scientists have proposed to extract new types of molluscs

Specialists at the Pacific Fishery Research Centre presented data on potentially exploitable concentrations of deeply buried molluscs in coastal waters of Primorsky Krai.

Scientists conducted diving surveys in the south-western part of Peter the Great Bay in the Sea of Japan, which resulted in the discovery of potentially exploitable concentrations of these molluscs.

Researchers presented materials for the inclusion of two more species — Panopea japonica and Zirfaea crispata — to the list of objects for which a total allowable catch must be set and for the volume of that allowance to be set.
