Nano satellites developed in Skolkovo will follow space weather

Research and education nano satellites dubbed 'SiriusSat' developed by a Skolkovo resident company 'Sputniks', which have been launched yesterday from the ISS, will be transmitting data that will make it possible to monitor space weather in real time, the press service of the Skolkovo Foundation informed on Thursday.

«Research and education nano satellites 'SiriusSat-1' and 'SiriusSat-2' created by the Skolkovo resident company 'Sputniks' have been launched yesterday from the ISS. <> The monitoring satellite constellation of several such research and education spacecrafts together with the network of ground stations will make it possible for scientists and specialists to observe in real time and simultaneously the state of space weather in low orbit in different areas of near-Earth space,» the message from the company said.

It is noted in the message that the satellites were assembled by schoolchildren at the educational centre 'Sirius' in Sochi with the help from the experts from 'Sputniks' using the nano satellite platform developed by the company.
