International conference 'Marine mammals of the Holarctic' will be held in Arkhangelsk

The X International Conference 'Marine mammals of the Holarctic' will be held in Arkhangelsk from October 29 to November 2, the press service of the Northern Arctic Federal University (SAFU) informed.

«From 29 October to 2 November leading researchers of marine mammals from Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, the United States, Canada, Japan, and European countries, as well as activists and organisers of societies for the protection of sea animals will meet at the X International Conference 'Marine mammals of the Holarctic'. The International Scientific and Practical Conference has been organising the 'Marine Mammal Council' every two years since 2000,» the message said.

The programme of the conference will include workshops and roundtable discussions dedicated to the study and protection of gray whales, Atlantic walruses, white whales (aka beluga whale, Delphinapterus leucas) of the White Sea, seals in enclosed water bodies, and other marine mammal species of the Holarctic.
