Yamal presented at a forum in Arkhangelsk its experience of developing scientific cooperation

The Arctic Research Centre located in the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District (YNAD) presented its experience of developing cooperation among scientists at the Sixth International Forum 'Arctic Projects — Today and Tomorrow', which opened in Arkhangelsk on Thursday, the press service of the institution informed.

«The specific features and experiences of developing scientific cooperation in Yamal are presented at the international forum in Arkhangelsk. Anton Sinitsky, the Director of the Scientific Centre and Ph.D. in Geological and Mineralogical Sciences, will inform the forum participants of priority research studies using the example of the autonomous region. It is also planned to discuss issues of consolidation of research in the Arctic, cooperation of regional, academic, and industrial research institutions in solving the problems facing the northern territories, which require scientific support,» the statement said.

The priority issues in Yamal, Sinitsky explained, include preservation of northern reindeer herding in modern conditions, environmental monitoring, and the development of scientific hospitals.
