«A Hellenistic pendant with Egyptian motifs was found on the Mangup plateau in the Bakhchisaray region just a few weeks ago, where the capital of the medieval principality of Theodoro was located. It could be assumingly dated to the IV-III centuries BC. How could it get to the medieval fortification it is not yet clear,» the news agency has been told.

The scientist specified that the pendant has been discovered during excavations at the palace complex of the Mangup princes of the XVth century. The decoration is of a small size, about two centimetres; was presumably made of cast bronze. The pendant depicts a figure of a woman wrapped in a long garment.
