Drone for delivery of cargo tested in Innopolis in Tatarstan

The research assistants of the Innopolis University in Tatarstan have performed successful tests of an unmanned vehicle for delivering cargo. In one hour, a loaded drone has covered a distance of 38 kilometers and come back, the press office of the University reported.

Together with the company ENIKS, the scientists from the University have conducted a trial flight of an unmanned aircraft under the conditions of reduced visibility and negative temperatures. In one hour, the drone has delivered a post cargo to the distance of 38 km and come back. The vehicle was moving with the speed of 65 km/h at the height of 500 meters. During the test of the technology of unmanned cargo delivery, they have used a drone T16 produced my ENIKS which can fly up to 150 km away with the speed limit of 130 km/h to the height up to 4 km. In the test case, the overall distance of the flight was only 76 km.

According to the head of the Center of Development of Robotechnics of University Alexander Klimchik, «one should gain the support of a lawyer team who could promptly solve administrative and juristic issues connected with the coordination of the flights tracks. The legal framework is the only hindrance which we have on the way of scaling out the project and implementing it for commercial usage.
