Russian scientists claim to make a cure for aging available in two to three years
Delay in aging has already been achieved for plants, mushrooms, invertebrates, and fish, according to Skulachev. «I think that in Russia we are really moving towards this, in the next two to three years <> there will be a medicine <> for treating aging in general,» he added.
Skulachev has been working for the past decades on the concept of aging of the organism as a biological programme and searching for ways to slow it down. In 2003, he initiated and led the interdisciplinary biomedical project «Practical Application of Skulachev Ions», bringing together about 300 national and foreign scientists (the base institution — Moscow State University). The goal of the project was the development of new medicines aimed at combating various age-related pathologies and slowing down the aging process.
