Archeologists discovered part of copper icon in a central bystreet in Moscow

During public improvement work in Luchnikov bystreet in the center of the Russian capital, archeologists have found a fold of small icon-reliquary created in XV-XVI centuries. This finding has been announced by the mayor of Moscow Sergey Sobyanin at his page in social network Vkontakte.

«In Luchnikov bystreet in the course of estate maintenance, archeologists have found a unique item — a fold of an icon-reliquary. It is made in the moulding technique of copper alloy in XV-XVI centuries. Possibly, it was lost on the way connecting the Kremlin and Kitay-Gorod with Zlatoustovsky monastery,» - stated in the message.
