Head of the RAS: brain research should become one of the priorities for Russian science

Studies of the brain and artificial intelligence should be one of the priority areas for the Russian scientists' research, said the president of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) Alexander Sergeyev on Wednesday.

«If we understand how the brain works, it will determine the future of all information technologies … There certainly must be a powerful programme for artificial intelligence [research and development], but there must also be [the programme for] the brain. Here we have a very large interdisciplinary project, we all need to get together and get down to it,» Sergeyev said.

The President of the Russian Academy of Sciences reminded that there is a transition to the digital economy going on and in the digital economy everything should happen through complex sequential calculations.
