«Microbiologists from The Research and Development Institute of Ecology and the Sustainable Use of Natural Resources of the TSU have found hydrocarbon oxidising microorganisms in the soils near the devices for burning gas in the oil fields in the north of the Tyumen Region. They presented the results of research, carried out within the framework of a government contract, at the congress on the island of Ischia in Italy. The search for new microorganisms is relevant because it allows to develop new methods for the remediation of soil and water areas contaminated by oil and oil products by means of using effective strains of microorganisms,» the press service said.
