Scientists from the joint directorate of the «Nature Reserves of Taimyr» together with invited experts explored a significant part of the west part of the peninsula last year, during the large scale Pyasina Expedition. This year studies should «complete the circle» and provide the science with a picture of the state of nature throughout Taimyr.

The Pyasina expedition of 2017 is considered to be the largest one in Taimyr for the last three decades. The scientists collected information using aviation, water and land equipment. The planned Eastern expedition is expected to become an event of comparable scale.
