Russian scientists improved the algorithm for predicting crystal structures
Russian scientists from Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology (Skoltech), Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT), and Samara State Technical University (Samara Polytech) have improved computer algorithm USPEX, which can be used to predict new crystal structures of chemical substances, the Skoltech press service informed on Wednesday.
"Scientists from Russia have figured out how to improve the algorithms for predicting the crystal structures of chemical substances. It will now be possible to discover new substances several times faster," the message said.
The scientists have published the results of their work in the journal Computer Physics Communications.
