«The cost of excavation, of study of this archaeological monument is 24 million rubles. The funds are provided by the company SIBUR, which is conducting a survey of the site where the gas chemical complex is going to be built,» Orlov said.

The discovery of the ancient settlement was made thanks to study of a site for the construction of the Amur Gas-Chemical Plant. The decision to implement the project has not yet been finalised, but preparatory work is already under way. In May 2016, archaeologists went about 1.2 thousand kilometres, and during one of these rounds 17 rounded hollows up to 8 meters were found in a fairly wooded area, indicating that there are the remains of ancient dwellings under the ground.
