A ship of 1920 discovered near the Crimea coast
«After the hydroacoustic reconnaissance of the seafloor an unknown ship has been discovered. When the ship was being examined in detail, divers of the expedition managed to read the name of the ship on the shipside. There was the name 'The Fourth' on the shipboard, and on a plaque next to the steering wheel 'year 1920' was readable. The vessel resembles an armoured boat or a minesweeper in appearance,» said the source of the agency.
Dunaev said that further work is under way to identify the vessel. He noted that the ship «could become a good recreational object for diving in the area.»
The expedition 'Neptune' is funded by the Foundation of Presidential Grants within the framework of the project 'Crimea — a crossroads of civilisations'.
